Quick Recipe : Fusili Spicy Tuna Sauce

Thought today I would share this quick and simple pasta recipe :D

Fusili Spicy Tuna Sauce

Ingredients :

450 gr      fusili pasta
300 gr      fresh tuna (I had canned tuna)
5 pcs        red chilli - sliced
1 pc         garlic - chopped
1 sheet     spring onion - sliced
200 gr      sweet corn
350 ml     chili sauce
200 ml     tomato sauce
10 sheets  lime leaves
1 tbsp       sugar
1 tsp         salt
1 stalk      lemongrass - crushed
2 vertebra galangal - crushed
2 tbsp       cooking oil
400 cc      hot water

Cooking Method :

  1. Cook fusili. Pour 450 gr fusili into 4,5 liters of boiling water. Add salt to taste, if desired. Stir gently and boil to 8-10 minutes. drain well.
  2. Stir fry the tuna, add lime leaves, red chillies, lemongrass, galangal, stir a moment.
  3. Add chilli sauce, tomato sauce, salt and sugar, sweet corn, stir evenly while adding water until slightly thickened.
  4. Add fusili, stir, sprinkle with chopped spring onion, serve immediately.
Serving : 4 portions

Very yummy pasta for lunch and I have to be honest, this is not my own recipe, I took this recipe from the fusili package :P

Incoming 23rd July 2015

Yes I am still on holiday enjoying lazy time at home. No phone call from office today, and it worried me haha. I called my assistant, she said everything is under control and I should be going out somewhere. Before I went to another mall, the postman delivered some postcards and an envelope. Call me old school, but I really love receiving handwritten letters or postcards through postal service. True that everything is more convinient, cheap and faster with email but it lacks emotion. I enjoy the surprise feeling when I open envelope.

Today's incoming are postcards from Hongkong, Singapore, South Korea and an envelope from Czech Republic. The postcard from Singapore and the envelope from Czech are coming through official postcrossing and the other 2 postcards are from direct swap. I will write later what Postcrossing is about :)

This postcard from Hongkong is part of the "Greeting From..." aka GF card series from www.postallove.com. People are collecting this series which consist of some countries (more than 30 countries and it keeps growing), everytime new GF card released people became crazy looking for swap to be sent from the country of origin which is a bit funny because this GF card is designed by a Polish, produced in Poland and we should buy it online. The "Greeting From..." postcard is really famous that some people tried to copy the design and made their own, few of the famous (unofficial) copy designs are the blackhole and pizza card.

I got this GF Hongkong from direct swap via instagram, I sent GF Indonesia card to the person in Hongkong  and she sent me GF Hongkong card in return. The swap is based on trust :D Until today I have collected 4 GF cards, Phillippines, Taiwan, South Korea and Hongkong. I have arranged swap with Chile, Russia and Belarus, let's see when they will arrive here, ooh a lady from Norway just messaged me yesterday telling there will be GF Norway soon and I have asked her to reserve one for me. It's a bit difficult to find people to swap with GF Indonesia because it seemed everyone has already swapped with Indonesian hahaa. That is why I have ordered all GF series card from Postallove and hopefully one day I could go travelling to all that countries and send my self the GF card ^_^

This is my first postcard from Singapore and it came through official postcrossing. Postcrossing is a project where you can send postcard and receive postcard back from random people in the world. You must sign in first to the website www.postcrossing.com and request address where to send the postcards. They will give you address along with unique ID number, you must write the ID number on the postcard. Once the person received your postcard, it will be registered from that person's account and unlock your turn to get postcard from random people in the world. As for the postcrossing member we call it as "postcrosser".

I have been a member of postcrossing for 7 months, my statistics are 38 postcards received, 35 postcards sent and 9 postcards travelling. Last 14th July was the postcrossing 10th anniversary, I have seen some profiles where they have sent and received more than 3.000 cards. Really amazing that people stick with this hobby for a long time.

A surprise card from South Korea showing Yongpyong ski slope, winter 2018 Olympics will be held in Korea from Kangwondo. I never thought that I would get this postcard. It was sent by a Korean girl name Hyojin. We did tea swap before and she wrote on the postcard that she sent me the postcard to say thank you...aawww isn't it really sweet.

Another surprise from official postcrossing is this envelope !! it was sent from Czech Republic by a young couple, Jana and Michal. Postcrossing normally is about postcard, that is why receiving an envelope contains letter, postcards, brochures and sticker is a rare. A very rare nice surprise, I enjoyed reading the letter and when I registered the postcard, I also sent message to them asking their address. I want to send them a thank you letter and happy postcrossing greeting :)
Wonderful surprise from Czech Republic

Liberica at Palembang Icon

I am not an avid coffee drinker but I dont mind trying new coffee shop that seems to be a trend here. Many new coffee shops open just like mushrooms grow in rainy season. This Liberica coffee shop is the second outlet in Palembang, the older one located in Rajawali village which I have never visited since it was too far. The second outlet is in Palembang Icon mall, only 10 minutes super lazy stroll from my office. I am still on holiday so I went to post office today and stopped at Palembang Icon mall for quick lunch and another holiday shopping (yaay). The funny thing is the Liberica outlet located in front of Starbucks outlet and I have always been a Starbucks girl :D

On the outside wall

I like their interior with black color and bricks dominated the whole room. I went to second floor which was a bit of mistake when I realised the light was too minimum to take photo of my lunch. The name of Liberica is taken from a rare coffee bean variant, and they sell 100% original Indonesia coffee bean. Unlike Starbucks, at Liberica you can order more than just coffee, they also sell beer, wine and heavy (carbo) food like sandwiches, salad, soups, pizzadillas, pasta, steak, Asian noodles, Indonesian rice dishes plus various of deserts and cakes.
view from second floor
Despite of "the lack of light" on second floor, I like it there because I could watch people from above, it is very interesting to be a silent observer hahaa. To my surprise, I was not the only person who enjoyed second floor,  it was full packed, there were 2 tables with family and kids eating lunch next to my table and another 3 tables with modern youngsters chilling out whilst first floor had only one table occupied. I ordered hot cappuccino and fettuccine alfredo to satisfy my empty stomach. Their menu is a bit pricey for my pocket but experience cannot be measured by how many digits you spent hahaa.

The cheapest drink was tea for 25.000 idr or $1,87 and the chepeast food was soup for 30.000 idr or $2,24, and all the price do not include tax and service charge, so be prepared and dont get shock for the final bill.
Woow... I was just thinking that I could buy a box of Twinning tea for the same amount of money :P
the coffee section menu
Fettuccine Alfredo for 45.000 idr or $3,36
Hot Cappucino for 35.000 idr or $2,61
A little note for my lunch, the garlic bread was huge (which I dont mind at all), the chicken and mushroom was nice but I wish the fettuccine had more creamy sauce as it was a bit dry without generous sauce and not sure if they forgot liquid sugar for my cappuccino or I was expected to ask for the liquid sugar because it wasn't part of the coffee. Maybe next time I should just order familiar menu like Asian noodles or Indonesian rice dishes, and everyday from 11 am-2 pm they give free regular iced lemon tea for every purchase of sandwiches and main course (keep in mind, pasta is not main course).

Oohh...today is "bring your own tumbler" day to get 50% discount at Starbucks for every 22nd each month.
Of course I didn't miss it, you see....I am always a Starbucks girl :D
